We were instant friends, and as others arrived at the theatre to listen to her sing, she reached out to meet each one. Then she touched us with her music. She's a remarkably talented musician and a genuine person.”

With the new EP, 'Runnin It Red' Heather Platts takes a bold step forward both in songwriting style and vocal performance. Songs such as 'Speed Bump' and 'Runnin' It Red' explore the powerful, universal story of facing and overcoming fear and doubt. 'Tip Toes' is a playful, optimistic song about self acceptance. 'Halfway Heart' is a soulful, emotional ballad about coming to terms with the ending of a relationship. 'Empty Nest' explores the empty hallways and quiet rooms of a house and home after the children have grown up and gone away. Featuring the talent of Byron House on fretless bass (Robert Plant), and the songwriting skills of music producer and guitarist/songwriter Bruce Michael Miller (co-writer, Empty Nest and Speed Bump), 'Runnin' it Red' is an engaging and powerful new addition to the music of performing songwriter Heather Platts.

Bio
Passion.  That is what Heather Platts brings to song and stage.  An expressive performer and pianist, Darcia Helle of Soundwaves Review describes Heather as "a natural storyteller with a beautiful voice.  She can roar with power, and then bring us down to a soft, sweet, vulnerable spot."  A songwriter since childhood, Heather pursued a career in music and earned a degree in Music Composition from the University of Idaho.  It was not until becoming a mother and raising a family, however, that she found her true voice as a songwriter.  Heather often credits her children for opening her up to the "vulnerability of living life with much to gain and so much to lose."    The debut album, "Lighted Windows", was recorded in Nashville Tennessee with guitarist, songwriter, and producer Bruce Michael Miller.   It features renowned bass player Byron House, who recently toured with the legendary Robert Plant.  FIVE of Heather's songs have broken into the  Women of Substance Radio TOP 20!  Her music has also been featured on KCcaferadio.com.  She is currently performing extensively throughout Idaho and released a 5 song EP, "Runnin It Red" in June of 2017.
